Gunsch Research Group

The Gunsch research group links advances in biotechnology to environmental engineering applications. On-going work considers genetic adaptation mechanisms resulting from anthropogenic contaminant exposure, the impact of emerging contaminants on aquatic microbial ecology and, the development of novel techniques for controlling pathogen proliferation.

Hsu-Kim Research Group

Research in Hsu-Kim group considers chemical processes that affect the fate of trace metals in the environment, the biogeochemical cycling of pollutant metals and, interfacial processes controlling the fate and bioavilability of nanoparticles in aqueous systems.

Khlystov Aerosol Research Laboratory

The Khlystov Lab researches the effect of ambient aerosol on global climate and how aerosol hygroscopic growth affects the magnitude of the climate forcing; relationships between the particulate mater and the adverse health effects; and the development of new techniques to monitor the properties and transformations of ambient aerosols.

Wiesner Research Group

The Wiesner research group develops new technologies for water treatment and environmental quality control focusing on membrane processes, and work on environmental nanotechnology that considers applications and implications of nanomaterials and the technologies they inspire.
